JOULi™

The original.

Scalable, multi-input (multiple [unsynchronized] generators, wind, solar, grid, etc.). AC inputs: 4 ea. 85-264VAC; DC interface: 42-56VDC bidirectional intermediate bus; 10kW charger. Storage: internal 1kWh AGM lead-acid, external-unlimited kWh. AC output: split-phase 240VAC 4kW continuous, 12kW surge (10sec), scalable to 45kW continuous, 120kW surge. Intended to supplement small, high-efficiency inverter-generators to enable whole-house operation with minimal fuel consumption.

Extraordinary flexibility, but high cost, reduced efficiency due to multiple conversion stages.

SURGi™

Small, light and much more cost-effective, the second-generation SURGi is patterned after the JOULi, but with minimal energy storage and only a single input and output. Designed to provide supply-side assist to small, high-efficiency inverter generators to enable starting of high-surge appliances such as refrigerators, pumps, air conditioners, etc. 2.5kW peak surge power capability.

POLYi®

3rd generation energy storage appliance. 5kW, 2.5kWhr high-efficiency, highly cost effective 2U scalable energy storage building block. Utilizing proprietary VRIC™ (virtual rotor inverter control) technology, the POLYi can be paralleled with other POLYi units for increased capability, as well as with other non-POLYi generation and/or inverter assets for maximum flexibility.

Intended for behind-the-meter backup as well as frequency regulation and peak-shaving applications, POLYi® can be connected in single-phase, split-phase or three-phase configurations, and can be paralleled to increase power or energy capability, scaling to any reasonable size.

The POLYi is a self-contained energy storage appliance which can function in utility-interactive mode (grid-tied) as well as islanded (off-grid) mode. Contained within the unit are batteries, an integrated and matched high-power bidirectional charger / inverter, an integrated battery management system (BMS), revenue-grade meter (0.5%) for settlement purposes, MODBUS network interface for remote control and an integrated utility disconnect device for islanding. It can operate in a standalone mode with no additional sub-panel, or can work in conjunction with the ALTERi™ whole-house smart switch to operate in parallel with any AC-coupled solar system. When combined with a properly sized solar system, it is possible to operate in off-grid mode indefinitely.

FREQi®

Configuration-less load control for residential loads during outages

When operating on backup power, controlled load management is key, enabling shedding of non-critical loads to extend run times. FREQi provides a simple means to control non-critical loads, without requiring a dedicated critical load panel.
